The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) invites applications for a full-time contractual Paralegal Assistant under its Citizenship and Immigration Law Clinic.
Position Details
- Location: Assam — Goalpara/Matia
- Duration: 1 year, extendable based on performance

Key Responsibilities
- Organise monthly legal-aid camps at Matia Detention Centre.
- Coordinate with Assam Legal Services Authority and Goalpara DLSA.
- Conduct client intake and identify detainees requiring legal representation.
- Assist with initiating legal cases.
- Support document translation and training programmes for lawyers and paralegals.
Eligibility
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Law/Social Work, or significant paralegal experience.
- Fluency in written and spoken Assamese.
Desirable:
Prior experience with DLSA/SLSA.
